Whats the difference between Gamer Points and Microsoft points?

I know you accumulate Gamer points as you unlock achievements, But do they get added to your microsoft points?|||Gamer points are completely useless. They're there to show what you've accomplished. You cannot add them to Microsoft Points. MS Points are used as currency on Live to buy things. You have to pay for them.|||Gamer points are unlocked by achievements, yes. Microsoft Points are points you buy so you can then use them to purchase games, add-ons, etc from XBox Live. They are two COMPLETELY separate things.
