How can i link my windows live id to my xbox live gamer tag?

I tried to download a map for halo 3 and it said my gamer tag had to be linked but idk how to do it.|||Your windows live id should automatically like to your gamertag provided that the id and password is the same as the e-mail and password you provided when you signed up for xbox live, if you didn't do this when initially setting up your account, you can change it on the xbox live's web page. otherwise, you may want to ask this question to xbox live or windows messenger support.|||make a new gamertag wen it asks for an email put in your windws live email and it will say it is an windows live account and it will link automaticly if you have the password of coure|||Search windows live id on google or yahoo search and i'm sure once youget to their website you can handle it from there.
