Hello there, need some help here. I'm really confused which laptop should I purchase. I'm a gamer and a hardcore computer user. Its a 100% free-roam do whatever you want game. Drive cars, steal cars, ramp the vehicles go for a swim, jump off buildings, go buy new clothes, do missions, out run cops. honestly HOURS and HOURS of fun a day!

I still play my GTA IV everyday and have just as much fun as when I first bought it!|||gta iv because of the freedom.

Does anyone know if i can delete my gamer profile from my game system but still keep my downloaded games?

I have an Xbox 360 I am going to sell and I want to delete my gamer profile from it but I don't know if that will also delete the games I downloaded from the Xbox Live Arcade Network. Does anyone know if it does?|||The games will still be there if you do it right.

2. Go to system settings

3. Click Memory

4. Go to profiles

5. Click the profile you want to delete

6. Delete it, but If the size of it is more than 20mb, then you did something wrong and are deleting things you shouldn't.

She's kinda already a gamer, but she only plays lego indiana jones... again, and again, and again, and again...

How can I turn her into more of a gamer and get her playing some good games? I know you need to find that "seed" game and then go from there. But she won't play anything other than indiana jones!|||Something that you can play co-op on, i managed to get my gf into games by gears of war, not suggesting you do the same but getting her to play games with you a game that has a good story line to it aswell as just good game play, good story lines are something like bioshock but they arnt co-op|||the co-op idea was a good one ^. you wanna ease her into gaming, especially if all she plays is some piece of crap lego ____ game. go for games that are fun and exciting without being too intense. I would suggest against WoW, since not only is it extremely complicated for someone who isn't starting out with a clan, it has a stigma in popular culture that steers most people away from it.

Any co-op FPS is good. if she likes star wars, you could try Force Unleashed. I really like that game, and it's easy as games come.|||If this doesn't work nothing will.

Gamerpics can only be the ones made and approved for Live or a real picture taken with your vision cam. Vision cam pics are also the only ones that can be sent in a message. Thank You|||There are two ways to do this depending on if you know the info.

1. If you know your Windows Live ID and password (which you used to register you gamertag), you can simply recover your gamertag on the other console. All you need to do to recover is go on the dashboard, click the recover button, and type in your Gamertag, Windows Live ID, and the password. Then accept to the code of conduct. The Xbox live subscription will remain and so will your gamerscore.

2. If you don't know your Windows Live ID and have no way to figure it out, you can get a memory card, then upload your gamertag to the memory card, and then upload it back on the other console.|||there are three ways:

1- using xbox live to transfer your gamertag over to another hard-drive

2- getting a memory card to copy over data and profiles/gamer tags to another console

3- Or the way i did it. I used a transferring cable that allows your to transfer everything from your old hard-drive to your new one at high speed.

i would recommend getting the transfer cable but any of the above will work.|||either use a memory card to do so or recover the gamertag off of xbox live...

the xbox live subscribtion will continue over, because all that data is stored on the internet...

Why do I have a feeling that speed running makes a gamer better than normal playing?

When I see these gamers doing speed runs, It makes me feel that they are better than me because I can't play like them.How to be a true gamer? by speed runs?|||Well, a speed runner is basically a person who rushes through RPGs, Side-scrollers and the sort, but they aren't always better than you. They've just played the game so many times, they've memorized what they have to do for a speed run.

In my own opinion, there is no such thing as a true gamer, because we have casual and competitive, and that's pretty much it. The competitive gamer dedicates himself to his skills, and usually engages in RTS, and Arcade style gaming (Dota, HON, LoL, Warcraft, Starcraft, Tekken) Whilst a casual gamer plays any game they feel like.

I have a feeling that you've been watching Super Mario speed runs, they've probably beat the game hundreds of times to get to that point of gaming.

To be a true gamer, you've just gotta be the best. That's pretty much all I can say. Speed running is great and all, but I prefer RTS, it's a skill of strategy, micro, macro, reflexes, and of course competition.

You don't have to be fast to be the best.

Be aware there are many things that can go wrong so go through the set up slowly. People that breeze through it are the ones that end up making a new profile. P.S whats ur Gamerscore, mines 9490|||Drew is absolutely correct, you may have to change the profile name during setup as the one you are using may already be taken.

What is a good mmorpg for a casual gamer?

I do not like taking the time to sign up for a mmorpg (free of course) and as soon as i get through the training some dork kills me or starts yelling profanity at me. I am a very casual gamer and would like to find a game that doesn't pit me against people who have spent the last 6 months of their life playing the game, cause obviously im going to loose. I just want to have fun. Any suggestions on what game might be good for me?|||The game Runescape fits the description you're looking for. It's not incredible graphics wise, but it's free, requires no downloads (just go to runescape.com) and can be played at whatever pace you want. People can only attack you in a few situations, and you'd know when you were getting yourself into those before they happened. On top of that, there's much more to do besides fighting each other, and to be honest Runescape really only has a small level of strategy, everything is dependent upon your armor and levels, which are pretty easy to raise/obtain. But the point of making a new profile is to start over, I would say. So that includes everything.

What console to get (xbox 360 or ps3) if you are not a big gamer?

I just bought a 50inch sony HDTV and figured to get a console system as well for entertainment.

After some research, I found the prices of xbox 360 RE Red console for $320 and the ps3 (80gig) for $320 as well online... So which system would you suggest for a not big gamer?|||PS3 is better. It has games from all genres. 360 mainly focuses on shooters whereas PS3 has a variety of games in all genres. Also, it has Blu-Ray which is as added benefit (trust me, the 50" will bleed out life like images with Blu-Ray).

If you do not have any budget issues, then PS3 is the best choice as 360's have a bad reputation of breaking down (RROD-30% failure rate). PS3 has better exclusives lined up this year. The thing comes packed up with wifi, Blu-Ray, Bluetooth, FREE online (360 charges to play online).....

For a casual gamer, PS3 has a lot of choices. It comes packed in with great features and has a tremendous line up in 2009-10 (when I mean tremendous, I really mean it.... Nearly most of them AAA titles. The 360 hardly has a decent exclusive coming out this year apart from Halo:OSTD). PS3 is the ultimate media centre out there.|||For ease of use, the PS3 was harder to use for me and I'm a very experienced gamer. The xbox can be used by my dad who completed metal gear solid (original!) with me when i was 3 and it took him 6 months on easy. hmm. You may think that the live is expensive, but it is way ahead of Playstation Network, and there is such a huge range of games and also family settings if you have little ones. You could check out both xbox.com and playstation.com|||get your self a ps3 mate! the ps3 is ten times better than a xbox 360.

I just added the first two gamer profiles on my new 360 Pro. I was wondering if it's possible two have more, and if so, how do I go about doing so?|||Yes its possible.

Log out of the account you are currently on and then press the "Xbox" on your controller and go to where it says sign in. It will then ask you to select a profile. At this point their is an option that says create new account, Click that and BAM! you go through the set up process and your done.

I guess what I am asking in a sense is how to focus really well i guess, but still how to be a good video gamer. I do not mean be good equipment wise. These pictures are only visible to people on your friends list. That's the only way.|||You need a Live Vision Camera to take your picture. Edit: Yes Danny, Microsoft is going to force you to loose all of your game saves as well as your achievements, by forcing you to make a new account. I don't think so.|||If you made the profile offline you can't play online with it, you can only play online with the gamertag that you made online. When you make a gamertag online it'll tell you if the gamertag is taken, then you have to fill out all that stuff etc. I'm afraid you'll have to start over with your online profile. I went to load data for a game and it said that there were no profiles found. As a result, I had to make a new one but I can't access my save data. It's there in my hard drive, but under ever file it says "unknown profile." Is there any way to reload my gamer profile so I can access my save data? Im not connected to xbox live.|||well the saved data will appear on your HD but it can only be used WITH the profile it was created, so if you dont have that profile on that 360 you wont be able to use those saved data files, also you wont be able to use other downloaded content... because every data is linked to a particular gamertag.

If you never created an Xbox Live account, im really sorry to tell you that you cannot recover your gamertag.

Cuz it was stored on your HD, (or storage device), not at Microsoft Servers...

to prevent this to happening again you need to sign in to xbox live, create a new account, and if you dont play online just periodically connect your 360 to Xbox Live so you can upload n updtae all your achievments data, download history and your account to Microsoft servers.

So if you loose your info on your hd again you just download your gamer profile again form Xbox Live with all your achievements and that will allow you to use your saved data and downloads.

Is the nintendo wii or playstation 2 better for someone who isn't really a gamer?

I was going to buy playstation 2, but then i started looking up nintendo wii, i was wondering what is better? I'm not a serious gamer I just want something fun!|||Nintendo Wii and PS2 are both great systems, however the Nintendio Wii is designed for both serious and non-serious gamers. Rockband just came out for the wii, also guitar hero, ddr, etc are all for the wii. You can just pick up the wii-mote and the explanations and gameplay are very easy... like wii sports... theres a perfect example of a fun, non-serious gaming environment where you can just play for fun. Many problems with people these days is how complicated control schemes can be... but with the wii, you can swing it like a bat, hit a tennis ball swigning it like a racket, and even boxing. So in all honesty get the wii, its new, its fun, its affordable, and it has a vast variety of games (wii play is also one to look into as well).|||I own both, and i would suggest the you get the wii, because the games you listed that you like to play are more "interactive" so the wii would be perfect for you to " just have fun". also in my opinion the wii is MUCH better than the ps2.

When you get xbox live, do you have to start a new profile or can you just upgrade your current gamer profile to silver or gold status? But why didn't you just make your gamer profile a live account so you wouldn't have this problem. You don't have to have one for online and one for offline. They can be the same account. When you were first signing up for live you should have just turned you gamer profile into a live account.

I just got my xbox back and want to play forza 2 but my gamer profile was on my hard drive and my brother lost it. I was wondering if i could transfer my old save game from the memory unit (it says unknown profile) to my new one. I don't play live or anything just me. When i try to copy/move it it says i cant transfer save games and **** from profile to different profile.|||If it was an Xbox Live gamertag (Silver or Gold) you can do the Recover Gamertag to get your gamertag back onto your memory unit, then the Forza 2 save should work.

If it was a local profile, then there's nothing you can do. The save is tied to a specific profile by a special code, so even if you create a new profile with the same name, your old save won't work with it. It's done to help stop people from cheating their gamerscore by loading somebody else's saved games.

I have had my X-Box 360 for around a month now and I still dont know whats the point of achievements and the gamer points?|||Just For fun... plus to make you work for things|||The point of Achievements is so that you might of completed the game, but you have reason to go back and complete it on a harder difficulty or do achievements you missed via mission select.

And Gamerpoints are simply things to brag about to be honest. No real point to them.|||basically it is for bragging rights,other than that they are useless.you cant spend them or any thing like that.its the same as the points here on yahoo answers.hope this helps.|||The point of it all is that gamers who have X-box live can then compare gamer achievement points and hours sort of as a way to see who the top gamer is.|||Acheivements are just a ploy to get gamers seriously involved in games and make people more competitive. Microsoft Points are a waste of money, I know, but they've got to make extra money for games aswell.|||The reason for the achievements is that so you have good replay value on the game. Basically your getting your $60 worth lol, where as a few years ago you just beat the game, and that was it. The achievements make you do different//fun things in the game. An example off the top of my head is the Mongoose Mowdown achievement for Halo 3. In a free for all game you run another player over with a Mongoose (4 wheeler). They just make things different :)|||The points are to show how "good" of a gamer you are. The purpose of achievements is to expand game play. Most achievements are designed to make you play in a place or at a difficulty level, or a game mode you normally wouldn't. So playing for achievements give the game more of a challenge or at least challenges them to leave their comfort level.

Getting 100% is quite a feat and will take far longer on most games than simply beating the game.|||Basically it's to show other players and your friends what goals and how many goals you have accomplished in your games.|||nothing|||they're just for fun

i also like to think of it as a way to keep gamers honest. everyone knows somebody who always claims to be the best and have beat every game. achievements help verify.|||like everyone els said...they're just for fun....no real actual purpose. They are just a way of rewarding you for your accomplishments in gaming. They give you a reason to play a game on the hardest difficulty, or pulling the biggest car stunt and stuff like that.

Though it would be nice if Microsoft would allow us to use these points to purchase minor rewards off of xbox live or something like that. But as far as I know, they are basically used to brag about our accomplishments in games.

I think it's because they were free for a limited amount of time in the marketplace but I'm not completely sure. If you want to be known, enter tournaments and win them. The more you win, the more well known you become, and the more money you win.

I think pro gamers are self employed (the exception being the Frag Dolls. I think they get corporate sponsorship.). If you remove the hard drive there will be no profiles to load because that's where the profiles are stored. The Xbox also won't let you create a profile if there's no where to save it. The same goes with the memory card. So if you put your hard drive in another Xbox 360 your profile goes with it and your xbox will be blank of profiles.|||Yes. The profile will be saved and active on whichever memory device you use to save it. So if your profile is saved on your hard drive and you move your hard drive around from console to console, the profile will move around with that hard drive.|||so long as you have xbox live, you can recover your gamertag, but the gamertag achievements, info, are all stored on the hard drive. or, if you always signin, it is constantly updated.|||Yes it will still have your gamer profile and all your saved game data. I find it easiest to play games on my Wii with just the Wiimote in my Left Hand. Can anyone reccomend any good/decent Wii Games that only takes one hand to play?|||Zack and Wiki is a point-and-click game for the Wii that got really high ratings. Does it hurt to use the Nunchuck in your right hand? You might try something like Zelda or Trauma Center in which you only use the Nunchuck to move around. It might not hurt so much if you're just rotating your thumb.

As unfortunate as this is (I know I'd cry if this happened to me; I've been gaming for 19 years) you might just have to take up a less strenuous hobby until the cast comes off. After all, your arm will heal faster if you use it less. Try getting some books from the library. If you're really into fantasy, I recommend the Xanth series by Piers Anthony. Or, if you've never read it, you could tackle Lord of the Rings.

you should invest your time in watching tv or reading or playing board games like cards checkers and dominoes with friends

video games are for sick people, rainy days, mobile impaired and liersurely entertainment but think about it: you can't play a 2 handed game with a broken hand

they have all these games for the ds about brain and stuff but they don't have one about logic and common sense, which you really need

The CD just has videos and demos on it that you could get online for free if you look.

I have a gamer profile that has a lot of achievements unlocked on it and it has a high gamer score in it also. I recently got xbox live and it made me create a new gamer profile and i want to start using this one. I want to some how make my gamer score and achievements go into my new gamer profile. Why is my Xbox gamer picture different than what I want it to be?

So I recently bought the AFC West picture pack and put the Oakland Raiders as my gamer pic, but my friends and everyone that sees my gamer profile tells me that it shows as the Baltimore Ravens. When you change your gamer picture on Xbox live, you have two options,

Your Regular Gamerpicture

and your "private" Gamerpicture, Only your friends can see this gamerpicture and will over ride your public gamer picture

these two can be different pics and what may have happened is that you only changed your public picture, please check if this is the issue, if this is not, you may need to reset your console once or twice. Thanks!
