Is it important with high resolution on a gamer lap top?

I am going to buy a gamer lap top, and I am wondering if 1920x1080 is a minimum to satisfy my requirements for a satisfying gaming experience. Or will it work fine with lower resolutions?|||The higher the resolution the better the image quality but higher resolutions need more graphics resources.Depending on your graphics chip, the game your playing and the games settings you may find that the frame rate is too low at a 1920x1080 resolution. You can lower the resolution but running a LCD at a resolution different than its native one will cause things to look nasty.I think a 1920x1080 is a good resolution for gaming. Also it's full HD with 16:9 ratio so you won't have any scaling issues with HD movies.|||It will also work good with lower freq's.

watch the videocard , thats a important thing.

but 1270x740 should also work fine|||That will do...but for gaming and the best experience...You want the best u can get like i play Star wars Empire At War and it has really good features to it but only the best come with a better computer :)|||Higher resolutions generally look better as far as graphics go as long as the hardware can handle it.

and as far as 1920x1080 well that depends on the screen size.
